Ponta do Morcego or the tip of the bat, is one of those magical places, geographically speaking. The site is similar to a peninsula-shaped wing of a bat, and is located in Praia do Meio from where one can see both Areia Preta Beach and Artistas Beach.

The deck was built in 1996 to give easy access to the beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.  The place is much sought after by photographers who wish to photograph the sunset from this magical location and by tourists, who are enchanted with the landscape and ocean views.  From here, it's possible to see much of the coastline of Natal running north and south, as far as the eye can see.  With a full moon, it's possible to watch the waves form and break on the beach in all of natures glory.  Well worth a night time stroll out to this location to view the night views of the ocean and beaches.
