The worked as a former slave market in the sixteenth century. The old dungeons that blacks were turned into various craft shops. Among the objects that can be found there, pieces of pottery, items of income, leather and straw, and souvenirs of Pernambuco. It's the market that can also appreciate the ruins of the ancient Senate of Olinda, part of the historic site.
