Caldas Novas Hydrothermal Springs

Caldas Novas is the biggest health resort in the world. In local waters spring from the ground at temperatures between 37 º and 58 º C. And it is precisely the medicinal properties attributed to these hot springs that attract more than one million visitors a year, making it the largest Caldas Novas tourist hub of the state of Goiás.

history

There are records dating back to 1545 in Spain reporting on the warm waters of the region. The story goes that Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva, after deviating from the path trodden by his father, found the hot springs called Caldas Velhas River Hot forming. In the same place, now is the Pousada do Rio Quente.

first Stall

Built in 1910 by Major Vitor Alla, the first resort of Caldas Novas was indeed a private bathroom. Only the family of Major and his friends could use the house. There was one large bath with three pipes, each with a different temperature, from 37 to 48 degrees.

Pond's Hot Piripitinga

Popular accounts describe the warm lagoons of Piripitinga descorbeta was accidentally in 1777. Bunny Martin Smith was in the region in search of gold when their dogs any wild animals they hunted, they fell in the hot springs and agonized.

The volume of water produced by springs in the region is approximately 6,228,000 liters / hour and the temperature of waters, which are extremely clear, ranging from 30 º to 57 º C!
